«Tower Houses»

Through the unique architectural beauty of Kastanitsa, there are the Tower Houses, which all carry a history of several centuries. Scattered in all the neighborhoods of the village but mainly in the neighborhood of Pyrgos stand out with their imposing volume. All of them have been built at least three hundred years ago and are three-storey, with small wooden balconies, also with small windows, with roofs of Parnonas slabs, while there are still small blinds, a sample of Kastanica being the base of Kleftouria not only during the great an uprising of 1821 but much earlier.
