«Byzantine Tower»
In the northern part of the village, the ruins of the Byzantine Tower dominate the hill with a panoramic view of the whole settlement and far away to the peaks of Parnonas with castanosides, firs, pines and even further to the Argolic Gulf. The Tower, according to the Historical Sources, was built by the Byzantines in the 14th century and was an important fortification project to control the important road that started from Argolis and ended up in the Laconian plain. In full form, the Tower was doubled, it was over eight meters high, while the stone wall was about one and a half meters wide and circularly had roundabouts everywhere. At the time of the Ottoman domination, it was an important shelter for the inhabitants, and there were not many battles successfully passed through its walls. Around 1810 the tower was preserved at the expense of Kastanitsiotis Captain Kapsampelis and in honor of him the Kastanitsiotes called him Tower of Kapsampeli.
The Tower was unfortunately ruined in 1948, at the time of the Civil War, and today there are ruins. For visitors' ascent, there is a paved path with wooden fencing.
